About Us

My photo
We make intentional lifestyle choices to use the abundance God has given us here in the U.S., so that we can give to those less fortunate than us in 3rd world countries. We want others to see the difference as Jesus, not us. We are all sinners in need of a savior. We are NOTHING without Jesus! Everything we have comes from Him and it is such a blessing to share it!

Daily Life

Here are some of the images of life around the First Love Kenya Children's Home:
On every sunny day, you can find laundry drying on the grass:
When the kids come home from school they wash their clothes....
{Cutting the soap into bars for washing their clothes by hand:}
....and polish their shoes:

Cooking/Baking:
Some of the older kids help in the kitchen. Below they are shredding cabbage and greens that will get cooked for supper:

Alea & Jonas enjoyed joining the kids for supper:

Soccer games on Sat & Sun are a weekend highlight. They bring benches from the hall for the others to watch.

Nightly Devotions are a highlight for our family. The kids worship with their whole bodies--dancing, motions, clapping & singing at the top of their lungs!
Joey & I took turns teaching on the Beattitudes.

After devotions they "revise" (study/do homework) for about 2 hrs, the older ones even longer than that. They are up before sunrise the next morning for school. The days are long; these kids show an amazing amount of endurance & self-discipline.
