The next morning we served them a nice breakfast before heading to visit their place in Kibera.
Their landlords' family at the gate to their compound...
Here is their apt that we pay rent for them both...
Then they took us on a walk to meet one of Jack's friends and business partner....
A special treat, was getting to meet Patroba's father and see the house where Patroba was born & grew up.
Along the way, we passed Raila from a distance, and several of the kids recognized us and came running all the way up the embankment to come greet us!
Stanley, Samuel & Jane!!!
And then the highlight of the day....butchering the chicken they'd been saving for us!
What a goofball!! Copying the chicken's faces....
"I've got my eye on you!" (He told me to be sure and type that on the blog! LOL!
Anissa's first time plucking a chicken. Joey said his job for the butchering was to take pictures!
Chopping the vegetables to put with the chicken, rice & ugali.
At last.....the big dinner! They were so excited to host us, they declared July 1st a holiday! :)
John, our driver from First Love, joined us as well as Samuel from Raila! What a special memory indeed!
