Deaf Shoemakers
As we were walking thru the slum, Anissa noticed some men signing, and found out there are 5 Deaf men who run a shoe repair business! She got to meet and talk with 2 of them! It was her first chance on this trip to use the little bit of Ugandan Sign Language! Again, it was such a thrill to communicate with them! They had no trouble understanding each other. The fingerspelling and many of the signs are the same.
