About Us

My photo
We make intentional lifestyle choices to use the abundance God has given us here in the U.S., so that we can give to those less fortunate than us in 3rd world countries. We want others to see the difference as Jesus, not us. We are all sinners in need of a savior. We are NOTHING without Jesus! Everything we have comes from Him and it is such a blessing to share it!

Work Week at Camp

Walking down to the lake with work tools to begin our work on the beach...
Tess Cervenka's (from our church in WI) World Race team had cleared a section of the bush before we got there, so our team's job was to prepare the dirt for planting....
Within minutes of beginning work on the first day, Vicki killed a snake with her hoe....!
Thankfully, it was the only real snake we saw the whole week (and it was a tiny one!) A few plastic snakes somehow found themselves on people's pillows, in the shower, and other random places, but those don't count ;)
Malachi "skipped" a few naps in the afternoon so he could hang out with us down at the work site. He didn't want to miss any of the action and loved to help out his dad! ;)

We all got really good at using a machete (to chop the many roots before we could level the ground)...
There were stumps to be dug up as well...
Finally.....
First the grass had to be ripped apart into small clumps for planting...
We planted rows of grass by hand for 4 days.
God, please let the grass take root and grow, to provide a green oasis for all who visit Musana beach!
Having fun just hanging around the work site....
"Watch out for that tree!!!"
The sweetest ride on the beach....
Ally helped saw logs for campfire seats...
We also hauled timber for building a beach house (for a security guard to live and to store beach & swimming equipment)
First we had to level the ground....
Eric spear-headed the building project, with his faithful assistant Wayne, always by his side.
Joey helped with the roof...
Then Tim joined the action....
The view speaks for itself (the security guard who will live here, is one lucky guy!)....
We also planted a few trees...

The team sitting in the new campfire circle at the end of our work week, surrounded by all the grass we planted....
