We are heading off to Uganda early tmrw morning. We have spent our last day at First Love packing, catching up on the blog, playing with the kids, and saying goodbye. That is always the worst part of a mission trip. The farewell hugging & crying session is absolutely heart-wrenching. But we say goodbye to one family and hello to another. We have made amazing memories and created lasting bonds here in Kenya, but I know the same will be true in Uganda. So with mixed emotions, we move on to "phase 2" of our 8 week journey. The team from our home church in WI, has been in the air (and on a looong layover) for the past 2 days and we will meet up tmrw at the airport in Uganda. We know the level of excitement and anticipation that they are experiencing, so we gear up for the next set of adventures and God encounters! I can't wait to see what God will do!!!New friendships await, new smiling faces of children that will grip our hearts, more red dirt to get our hands into with work projects, more worship & devotion sessions, more laughs and fun times to be had, LOTS of gifts to be passed out (thanks to Calvary Community Church), reunions with old friends & missionary partners, etc, etc. Our hearts are so full from our time at First Love, but more love awaits across the border!
THANKS to all of you who are praying for us! We could use extra prayer support these next 2 weeks as we step into a leadership role. We are fully relying on God, as a few glitches have already occurred. We know the enemy specializes in attack tactics, but the lyrics of one of our favorite songs encourage us "we know who goes before us, we know who stands behind, the God of angel armies is always on our side!"
For those of you who have been following our blog daily (Tina ;), we will be "off the grid" more so in Uganda, as we won't have free wifi. Plus we will be so much busier leading our team. So please be patient and bear with us till we get a chance to post.
We hope you are all having an amazing summer, watching God move in your corner of the world! Look for His fingerprints all around you! You don't have to fly across the ocean to have breath-taking God encounters!
Blessings to each one of you!
About Us
- FAMILY MISSION: To Bring Glory To God! FAMILY MOTTO: We Live Simply, So Others May Simply Live!
- We make intentional lifestyle choices to use the abundance God has given us here in the U.S., so that we can give to those less fortunate than us in 3rd world countries. We want others to see the difference as Jesus, not us. We are all sinners in need of a savior. We are NOTHING without Jesus! Everything we have comes from Him and it is such a blessing to share it!
