About Us

My photo
We make intentional lifestyle choices to use the abundance God has given us here in the U.S., so that we can give to those less fortunate than us in 3rd world countries. We want others to see the difference as Jesus, not us. We are all sinners in need of a savior. We are NOTHING without Jesus! Everything we have comes from Him and it is such a blessing to share it!

A boy and his chicken

So those of you who followed our blog last time will remember that Rosemary's mom gifted us a chicken, which is a big honor. Jonas immediately claimed it for his own. The cooks at the guest house wanted to prepare it for a farewell dinner, but Jonas started crying and said it was his pet. He didn't understand why we couldn't take it back to America. Kiweewa Christopher (the one thats going to be a vet) has such a tender spot towards Jonas, so he promised to keep it alive until we returned. He kept it at a friends house along with 5 of his own chickens. So of course we had to go visit his chicken, who has fathered many chicks over the 2 years.
"Quality time" holding his chicken! (We had to tie the legs together so it wouldn't scratch and try to get away). I'm sure the family had never seen such carrying-ons over a dinner item!
The only problem is that it is getting old now and to let a chicken die naturally is a waste since they can't butcher it or sell it. So after many tears, Jonas decided to donate his chicken to the family that had kept it for us for 2 yrs (even though he knew what would happen). To his pleasant surprise, they gave him a new younger chicken in its place!!!!
And so the cycle continues.....!
