About Us

My photo
We make intentional lifestyle choices to use the abundance God has given us here in the U.S., so that we can give to those less fortunate than us in 3rd world countries. We want others to see the difference as Jesus, not us. We are all sinners in need of a savior. We are NOTHING without Jesus! Everything we have comes from Him and it is such a blessing to share it!

Visiting Najib's Deaf School

Some of you will remember the little deaf boy that I worked with last time we were at New Hope. The Special Needs class brought him in from the nearby village to work with me. He was 5 yrs old, no language, only home signs, extremely shy, huge mamma's boy and scared of me. I went back to the USA and collected donations for him to go to school. Because of my generous Deaf friends, fellow interpreters, and former colleagues at Alaska State School for the Deaf, Najib is now in his 2nd year of school, is proficient is Ugandan Sign Language, is learning & growing, and even though he is still shy by nature, he has become quite independent. We were thrilled to get a chance to visit his boarding school and meet his deaf classmates & teachers!
Najib and His teacher....
Teaching them some American Sign Language; comparing the diff. They Were fascinated!!!
Najibs dorm room.
This adorable deaf girl showing us a tribal dance! That girl had rhythm!!!
We taught them "duck duck goose"
What a thrill the visit was! Could've stayed for a week!!!

******If anyone wants to contribute to Najibs on going education, he's going to need more tuition money staring in Feb. All contributions are tax deductible through New Hope Uganda.******
