Alea with Baby Mary who stole her heart! |
Anissa was assigned to work in the Special Needs classroom 4 out of the 5 days and 1 day at Hope House (otherwise known as Baby House) with Alea for one day.
The babies are babies that
New Hope has taken from the Police Dept (abandoned babies along the road, left in a field to die, etc.)
A few of them they know who the families are and after the baby is about 3 years old (has been given proper nutrition and medical care, loved on during those critical years) is then given back to the single mother or father who can now care for it now that they are older (but was unable to provide and care for them during infancy).
Others they have no clue who the family is (or all care givers are dead) so they will join a Kasana family group at the age of 3.
Kato Joshua (one of the older boys we sponsor) is doing one of his Investment Year placements there (he loves kids) so that was fun to work with him and see him working so well with all the babies/toddlers.
He took Alea to work with him a 2
nd day (since she was so in love with all the babies) so she was thrilled!
These babies obviously require 24 hour care and lots of extra expenses..
If anyone would like to sponsor the Baby House (Hope House) you are not assigned to a specific child but you will get monthly updates on how all the babies are doing and group pictures with their names so you can pray for all of them by name. It is only $30 a month.
You can also do one time purchases of diapers, milk, formula, etc.
As always, everything is tax deductable through
New Hope
