About Us

My photo
We make intentional lifestyle choices to use the abundance God has given us here in the U.S., so that we can give to those less fortunate than us in 3rd world countries. We want others to see the difference as Jesus, not us. We are all sinners in need of a savior. We are NOTHING without Jesus! Everything we have comes from Him and it is such a blessing to share it!

Home Visits

We have completed visits to each of the 6 kids we sponsor who are day students and live out in the villages with their aunt, grandmother, or 2 of them do have mothers (so they are fatherless but not orphans).  The school social worker/community liaison escorted us on the visits. We were so warmly welcomed at each home, all of them thanking us repeatedly for our sponsorship.  We prayed with each family before we left and it was so touching how they would give us gifts out of what little they had.  Here’s the list of what we were given: bananas, passion fruit, mangos, avocadoes, ground nuts (peanuts), beans, and last but not least…a chicken!  Jonas has been talking all along about going to Africa and getting a pet chicken, so she has no idea how happy she made this little boy!  Now we just have to deal with the tears when we leave it behind for the airport.  Our cook at the guest house asked us if we wanted her to prepare it for a nice dinner before we leave!  Jonas of course threw a fit!  We will donate it to one of the family groups here at Kasana.

Helping Rashida's grandmother scoop up the ground nuts quickly before the rain came. We also helped her bag up 3 piles of beans and a pile of coffee berries....we got it all up before the rain hit...just in the nick of time.  This is part of their daily routine....lay it all out to dry in the sun, scoop it all up and bag it before dark (or before rain) then lay it all out again.
