About Us

My photo
We make intentional lifestyle choices to use the abundance God has given us here in the U.S., so that we can give to those less fortunate than us in 3rd world countries. We want others to see the difference as Jesus, not us. We are all sinners in need of a savior. We are NOTHING without Jesus! Everything we have comes from Him and it is such a blessing to share it!

A few last pictures from New Hope....

                                                                     Making mango jam.

With Isa at one of the exterior wells (in addition to the central water tower New Hope has--they share these outer wells with other people from the surrounding villages).  You can't imagine to the level we take clean water for granted!
Jonas isn't the only one in our family who likes chickens! :)  With Susan.

Bananas are one of Uganda's staples (they have 5 or 6 different kinds that serve different purposes).  These are for making matoke (steam and mash them). With Susan in red.

We left our "pet" chicken (that Rosemary gave us) with Keweewa Christopher's family group.  The idea of having an animal as a pet is a foreign concept in Africa.  Animals are for food or money, even dogs are kept only for protection/safety.

"Friends Forever!"
Zephaniah, Jonas and Isa

"The Pig Whisperer"  These piglets were so freaked out when he got in the pen and we were all amazed when he patiently waited and got them to come to him!

"Until Next Time....."
Jonas and Isa will both be so much taller the next time we come back to visit.  There is nothing good about "good-bye"s.  Even though we knew it was a "see ya later" and that God has a plan for our family to come back at some point, the farewells were completely heart-wrenching!!!
