About Us

We make intentional lifestyle choices to use the abundance God has given us here in the U.S., so that we can give to those less fortunate than us in 3rd world countries. We want others to see the difference as Jesus, not us. We are all sinners in need of a savior. We are NOTHING without Jesus! Everything we have comes from Him and it is such a blessing to share it!

Sponsor a Secondary (High School) Student in Uganda....

Currently at New Hope, all the Primary (elementary) students have sponsors for $30/mth, which is a huge blessing!!!  Unfortunately, many of the older (secondary) students do not, or only have half sponsors.  It is double for a high school student ($60/mth) but you may choose to only do half if you like.  Then that child will have 2 sponsors and write letters to 2 different families/individuals.  New Hope requires that you write 6 letters a year, so it works out that you are passing letters back and forth every-other-month (you write, they write, you write, they write).  It is a very personal and fun way to impact a student's life!  It's amazing how quickly the love grows through letters, pictures, and praying for that student.

Although, the primary students get picked first, because they are sooo cute, these high school aged students are some of the finest young men and women you will ever meet!  They are NOT teenagers by our American standards, they are truly Godly young adults who exhibit such Christ-like characteristics!  They are hard working, humble, kind, giving, caring, respectful, have servant's hearts, the list goes on and on!  We used to say "we sponsor 5 younger kids and 5 older kids" but after having met them we can't call them kids anymore...they are truly young adults!  We feel so proud and honored to be sponsoring them!!!

Here are the 5 outstanding young men and women we sponsor:

Rosemary & Susan...Senior 4 (age 18) and Senior 3 class (age 17).  Rosemary is proud of her garden, gave us a chicken, very curious about our life in the USA, asks lots of questions.  Susan is quiet, but always singing a praise song under her breath, she loves to learn new games.
Joey with Ziwa Godfrey (finished with Senior classes and doing an internship out in the community), age 19, a very humble gentle man who loves football (soccer) and good conversation!  He will make such a kind husband some day!

Kiweewa Christopher, age 18,...a Luganda translator, a tortilla chip maker, guitar player, avid reader, enteprenuer, very business-minded, absolutely adores Jonas..a very talented young man!

This is Kato Joshua, another talented young man.  He is an artist, plays guitar, slam dunks like nobody’s business, does NOT like football (soccer), loves the Lakers, loves babies (worked in the Baby House with Alea), runs a small canteen as a business and will make an excellent father someday!
If you would love to sponsor a fine young man or lady like these, please let us know and we can direct you how to set that up through New Hope Uganda.   In most cases it is only $30/mth and you would be their second sponsor, but let us know if you would like to do the whole $60/mth and there might be a few out there who still need the full sponsorship.  Again, it is expected that you write 6 letters a year (every-other-month) and it can be set up for automatic withdrawl and is, of course, tax deductable.  Sponsoring a secondary student is a shorter commitment that ends once they graduate and get  a full time job.  You  can give them the extra boost of encouragement they need to finish strong!  You will not regret it!!!
