About Us

My photo
We make intentional lifestyle choices to use the abundance God has given us here in the U.S., so that we can give to those less fortunate than us in 3rd world countries. We want others to see the difference as Jesus, not us. We are all sinners in need of a savior. We are NOTHING without Jesus! Everything we have comes from Him and it is such a blessing to share it!

7 More Days to Go!

One week from today we board a plane and make the trip across the Atlantic Ocean to a new continent that we have only read about and prayed for…Africa. New sights, sounds, smells, foods, and adventures await us. If God lays it on your heart to pray for us, please pray for the following:
I want safety, but more importantly, pray for God’s sovereign plan to reign supreme. Whether through life or death, I will praise His name! I live in a false sense of security with my good job, nice house, car, beautiful wife, two amazing kids, and my health. At any moment I could lose it all, like Job, and then where would I be? I hope praising God, like Job did, in ashes, sack cloth, and sores all over his body.
Pray that our hearts would be broken for the kids that we work with, teach, hug, play with, and hold. Pray that we are filled with compassion, love, and anguish for the kids that we get the privilege to see, touch, and invest in their lives. My heart is overwhelmed at the thought of greeting our 10 kids that we sponsor. We have written monthly letters back and forth with them for 3 1/2 years now, received photos and drawings from them, and the moment is quickly approaching to seeing them face to face!
Pray that we will be in tune to what God wants us to do, according to the prompting of the Holy Spirit. We are just broken vessels, sick with sin, trying to be obedient to our Father's voice.

Pray for flexibility, patience, tolerance, coping skills, good sleep, and a willingness to try new foods for Alea.
Pray for obedience, patience, calmness, and respect in all situations for Jonas.
Pray for patience, flexibility, good sleep (something she struggles with even here in the US) for Anissa.
Pray for no sun burns, patience, and discernment for Joey.
Pray that we all would see the power of God at work among us. Pray that we would be changed forever. Pray for clarity for future direction after Africa as we walk in obedience to His amazing plan for our lives. Pray that the love of Jesus would just ooze from us and they could smell Jesus when they come near us. More of Him and less of us! Ready, set, go…here we come Africa!!
Joey
