About Us

My photo
We make intentional lifestyle choices to use the abundance God has given us here in the U.S., so that we can give to those less fortunate than us in 3rd world countries. We want others to see the difference as Jesus, not us. We are all sinners in need of a savior. We are NOTHING without Jesus! Everything we have comes from Him and it is such a blessing to share it!

Lake Victoria

2 years ago we led a team from Calvary Community Church to Musana Camp and our week-long task was to clear the beach of all shrubbery and undergrowth, level the ground (which involved chopping roots with machetes), rake the dirt and plant row after row of grass (planted individual plugs). The grass is very hardy and has shoots that spread. We were sooo excited to see our hard work had paid off and the grass was now plush, full & solid green.
Where the beach ends in this photo, you can see what it used to look like before we cleared the land:
White sand beach is underneath after you uproot everything:
Checking out the changes & growth since we were last here:
Look at that gorgeous grass:

The campfire circle our team built last time:
Alea & I laid these stones for the walkway when it was only sand:
(We still can't believe how thick the grass grew in!)

The palm tree our family planted 2 yrs ago:
(Our team planted all the palm trees.)

We took the canoes out for the first time (they weren't here 2 yrs ago):

Cooling off in the lake:

Enjoying the sand:

It's a long hike down, but well worth it!
