About Us

My photo
We make intentional lifestyle choices to use the abundance God has given us here in the U.S., so that we can give to those less fortunate than us in 3rd world countries. We want others to see the difference as Jesus, not us. We are all sinners in need of a savior. We are NOTHING without Jesus! Everything we have comes from Him and it is such a blessing to share it!

The Pearl of Africa

This is the first time we've traveled to the western part of Uganda and surely this is where this country got its nick name--"the pearl of Africa". We were amazed by the fertile beauty....green as far as the eye can see! An extremely agricultural area.
We drove past banana plantations:
And massive tea plantations:
Here's a couple birds we saw along the way:
Because the area is so hilly, they grow their crops straight up the hillside, even surrounding a lake like below. (I'm not sure how they weed without falling backwards into the water! ;)
We are not sure why it is green, but this is actually a crater lake. There were many volcanic features in the area including several crater lakes.
Below are twin crater lakes that we hiked to:
(Jonas always lives on the edge ;)
Here's a man on a homemade raft to show you the proportion of how big these lakes were:
Here is another view of the Rift Valley from a resort we stopped at for a break:
Such a gorgeous day's drive!! Thanking God for His Creation!!!
